Marketing and sales professionals from around the country gathered for Greystone’s Sales Adventure 2022– a two-day event that provides an environment for learning, fostering motivation, and sharing best practices. This year’s conference, held February 15 - 17, 2022 at the Hilton Dallas in Southlake Town Square in Southlake, Texas, embraced all things adventure, thanks to the Indiana Jones theme. Attendees could feel the excitement about being back in person after two long years!

Prior to the main event, a select group of Sales and Marketing Directors gathered to discuss creating synergy and increasing motivation among their teams, driving sales, and polishing up their leadership and mentoring skills. The agenda featured a variety of speakers and topics:

  • Journey to Where You’ve Never Gone (Mary Jane Fitts)
  • Motivate, Mentor, Manage (Teri Lock)
  • Effective Annual Reviews (Tracey Wenson and Kaitlyn Stevens)
  • SEW What? (Kristine Graeber and Jim Alford)
  • Health Care is a Team Sport (Michael Whitlow)
  • Un-Bossy Boss (Mindy Cheek)
  • Excavating Blind Spots (Ryan Knisely and Chad Simpson)
  • Navigating HR Topics (Kaitlyn Stevens)
  • Wearing Multiple Hats (Tracey Wenson and Leslie Dominguez)
  • Roundtable Discussion (Kristine Graeber and Teri Lock)

Wednesday and Thursday featured a variety of educational sessions and networking opportunities. On Wednesday, attendees were inspired by Shauna Niequist, who shared her thoughts on the intersection of hospitality and resilience, which struck a chord with attendees who have pivoted and adapted so well over the last two years. Shauna stressed the importance of each encounter in hospitality being an opportunity to “leave people feeling better about themselves”. She also encouraged creative thinking whereby a new idea – one that can fit on the size of a small “cookie sheet" – can be the catalyst to involve others and show care and compassion in trying circumstances. Tricia Mackin then delivered a powerful session on the impact of positive persuasion. In a Sales Adventure first, we brought in representatives from other Greystone departments to round out the day and give attendees a better idea of Greystone beyond marketing:

  • Planning & Finance Under the Magnifying Glass (Mary Jane Fitts and Kristi Cavrich)
  • Fanning the Flame, Preventing Combustion (Mindy Cheek and Justin Spooner)
  • Scaling the Mountain: Development + Sales (Kristine Graeber and Mallori Smyers)

Greystone Co-CEO John Spooner opened for us on Thursday, delivering a powerful message that reminded all to “tighten up ”efforts, change routines and habits, and seek new challenges as teams move seniors through the consumer journey. Thanks to our new, succinct session format, attendees also gathered quick insights on a variety of topics including:

  • Mining Quality Leads Agency Panel (moderated by Mary Jane Fitts)
  • Hidden Gems in the CRM (Teri Lock and Matt McMahan)
  • Taming the Morning Meeting (Chad Simpson and Ryan Knisely)
  • The Value Beyond the Floorplan (Michael Whitlow and Jim Alford)
  • Your Prospects –Cracking the Code (PVN resident panel moderated by Leslie Dominguez)

Afternoon breakout sessions included a variety of topics including creating positive sales cultures, enhancing virtual appointments, and more. On both days, Park Rangers Barb and Jerry spearheaded our team-building activities and provided constant comedic relief!

Evening events featured music by Brad Thompson and the Undulating Band, a photobooth, and caricature drawings by artist Benjamin Vincent.
