Planning and Financial Services

The Planning and Financial Services group is Greystone’s “front door” to new clients, responsible for preparing and presenting proposals or contracts to prospective clients and then delivering a wide range of planning and financial services. Services generally fall into planning consulting services or under our broad development contracts to principally execute capital finance plans and client coordination activities.

Planning and Finance professionals generally have a background from a professional services firm such as accounting, consulting, or banking. Superior analytical and communication skills are critical, along with the ability to work self-directed in a team environment. Excellent academic credentials required.


Responsibilities:


Consulting Services

  • Planning Studies, including market analysis, recommended project parameters and financial analyses
  • Development Plans, including preliminary design, finance plan, detailed financial projection, marketing plan, regulatory overview and development schedule
  • Strategic Plans Re-development Plans for older communities to reposition and revitalize
  • Business Improvement Plans or Turnaround Plans to improve financial results for under performing or struggling projects
  • Financial Advisory services to plan and execute a new project financing or refinancing

Development Services

  • Project Structuring: monitoring and updating overall project business model as development progresses; revising project parameters to meet project goals
  • Capital Finance: assembling a finance team, coordinating finance process, assisting banker in optimization of capital structure, reviewing and negotiating business covenants, preparing project disclosure, coordinating feasibility study preparation, closing of financing
  • Regulatory Compliance: securing required regulatory approvals, including certificate of need, Issuer approvals, Certificate of Authority, disclosure document preparation, etc.
  • Organizational Structure: working with corporate counsel to create organization’s structure; preparing required IRS applications and responding to inquiries
  • Client Service and Coordination: providing project updates to clients and obtaining required client approvals and input
  • Institutional Investor Reporting: preparing monthly reporting packages and responding to periodic questions from institutional bondholders on project status and progress

Business Development

  • Follow-up on new business leads
  • Proposal preparation and presentation
  • Engagement letter and contract negotiation
  • Ongoing client coordination
