The Management Services group has two functional areas:
The Operations Services division is responsible for implementing
and maintaining all systems, personnel and procedures necessary
to operate our communities in accordance with the strategic
plan for each community. Services provided include systematic
pre-opening processes; ongoing management and operations
support; hiring, training and development of community Executive
Directors and management teams; assisting with operations
compliance with various state and federal agencies; and
maintaining clear communication with sponsor organization
boards.
Operations professionals generally have a background in
healthcare or hospitality management, and preferably in
Continuing Care Retirement Community management. Strong
people skills and problem resolution are critical to Operations
professionals. A passion for quality and the ability to
build quality relationships are also extremely important.
Responsibilities:
New Community Services
- Systematic pre-opening procedure
- Hiring and training of Executive Director
- Assistance with hiring and training of community management

- Implementation of sound operational procedures &

- Strategic support to implement successful opening activities
- Networking of experts around the country to assist new
community managers
Ongoing Operations
- Frequent site visits and reviews of operations practices
- Training & development of site management teams and staff
- Assistance with implementation of new standards, guidelines and programs
- Assistance with operational compliance issues regarding state and federal requirements
- Support network through Task Force groups in every operational discipline
- Coordination of budget process and continued budget compliance efforts
- Controller function to provide “big picture” focus regarding financial performance
- Continuous problem resolution assistance for site management teams
- Updates and training on new techniques, products and procedures
Consulting Services
- Community Operations Reviews
- Department-specific Operations Reviews
- Business Improvement Plans
- Operations Re-structuring Plans
- Operations Consulting in Facility Design Tasks
The Financial Support Services division is
responsible for all financial operations at communities
that Greystone manages. Greystone does not own the communities
it manages; instead, Greystone provides management consulting
services for communities owned by several different clients.
Each of these communities operates on a stand-alone basis,
meaning that Greystone is responsible for the accounting,
financial reporting and budgeting needs of several individual
corporations. As such, we use a decentralized approach to
financial operations, where much of the accounting and bookkeeping
is completed on site by community-level staff who have been
trained by and are supervised by our corporate office.
Financial Support Services professionals generally have
a background in either public accounting, industry accounting
or both. Accounting knowledge and aptitude are generally
more important than industry experience. Superior analytical
and communication skills are critical, along with the ability
to work self-directed in a team environment.

- Hiring and training of community-level accounting staff

- Internal control and accounting procedure implementation and monitoring
- Day-to-day coordination with and support of the community-level staff

Financial Reporting
- Monthly financial package preparation for the Board of Director owners
- Monthly investor reporting to institutional bondholders
- Periodic debt covenant compliance reporting
- Periodic regulatory reporting to state agencies
- Annual IRS tax reporting
Annual Budget
- Management and coordination of the budget process
- Budget modeling
- Analysis and revisions
- Long-term projections
- Review with and approval by the Board of Director owners
