Dave McDowell
Senior Vice President – Development Services
Mr. McDowell is responsible for the delivery of the full
range of development services to Greystone clients. In addition,
he is responsible for reviewing and coordinating the design
efforts of outside architectural, interior design and land
planning consultants to insure consistency of product design
with Greystone's senior living philosophy. Prior to joining
Greystone in 1994, Mr. McDowell was a Partner in the architectural
firm of Fusch Serold and Partners, Inc., based in Dallas.
In this capacity he was responsible for client relations,
project coordination and design, and was the principal architect
for the firm's senior living work. He has designed over
3,500 independent living, assisted living and skilled care
units encompassing more than 30 projects. His twenty-plus
years of experience consists of both commercial and residential
developments. Prior to joining Fusch Serold and Partners,
Mr. McDowell was with several of Dallas' leading architectural
firms. Mr. McDowell received his Bachelor of Architecture
from Texas Tech University, is a registered Architect in
many states and has national NCARB certification.
Pat Gleason
First Vice President – Development Services
Mr. Gleason is a Project Director responsible for the delivery
of the full range of development services to Greystone clients.
This involves responsibility for supervising and coordinating
all outside consultants including architects, contractors,
engineers, land planners, interior designers and local planning
agencies. Prior to joining Greystone in 1997, Mr. Gleason
was Vice President of Southampton Memorial Hospital where
he was responsible for the development of projects providing
the full continuum of care for seniors including post acute
care, independent and assisted living and long-term care,
including Wood’s Edge, developed in conjunction with
Greystone. He has over 20 years of healthcare and project
management experience. Mr. Gleason received his B.A. from
George Mason University and did his graduate work at the
University of Dallas.
Marco De Palma
Corporate Vice President – Development Services
Mr. De Palma is responsible for the full range of development
services to Greystone's clients. This includes site review,
consultant coordination and construction oversight. Prior
to joining Greystone, Mr. De Palma was Vice President and
Regional Manager for a construction company. He is experienced
in all aspects of the construction industry including marketing,
management, and on-site construction coordination. Mr. De
Palma received an A.A. in Architecture from Norwalk Technical
College, a B.S. in International Business, and an M.B.A.
in Finance from The University of Bridgeport.
Robert (Bud) Green
Corporate Vice President – Construction Services
Mr. Green is a Project Director responsible for the delivery
of a full range of development services to clients of Greystone.
His responsibilities include the supervision and coordination
of all design and construction consultants including architects,
engineers, contractors, land planners, interior designers,
and governing authorities having jurisdiction within various
communities throughout the United States. Prior to joining
Greystone in 2003, Mr. Green was Executive Vice President
for a national development firm with responsibility for
all real estate development activities. His experience includes
tax credit housing for the elderly using USDA-Section 502,
HUD 221-d-4 financing. Additionally, Mr. Green was responsible
for all real estate properties developed for the United
States Postal Service. He is a licensed architect.
Burtis L. Derr
Corporate Vice President - Development Services
Mr. Derr is a Project Director responsible for the delivery
of a full range of development services to Greystone clients
including programming, budgeting, zoning, as well as design
and construction team assemblage. Prior to joining Greystone,
Mr. Derr was with Marriott Senior Living Services. He has
over 20 years experience dedicated exclusively to the development
of senior housing including more than 3,000 residential units.
Mr. Derr earned his Bachelor’s of Architectural Design from Texas Tech University.

- Operations
Rick Cumberland
Senior Vice President - Operations
Mr. Cumberland has direct responsibility for supervising
Greystone’s Management Operations and Financial Services
teams. These teams include approximately thirty professionals
providing corporate support to Executive Directors who oversee
Greystone-managed communities. Prior to joining Greystone
in 1999, Mr. Cumberland was Regional Executive Director
for a Florida CCRC corporation for over twelve years, including
oversight of two large CCRCs of approximately 2,000 residents
and staff of 1,400. Mr. Cumberland excels at building sound
operational teams, expanding existing communities, building
strong communication networks and enhancing resident relations.
Tim Mallad
Corporate Vice President - Operations
Mr. Mallad develops operational systems, formulates policies
and procedures and assists with the opening of Greystone-managed
communities. He also has responsibility for supervising
and supporting the Executive Directors who directly oversee
these communities. Prior to joining Greystone, Mr. Mallad
served five years as an Executive Director for Greystone.
Mr. Mallad began his career in senior housing in 1987 as
a Director of Marketing, and also has served as an Associate
Administrator for a large continuing care retirement community.
Mr. Mallad graduated from Wayne State University in Detroit,
Michigan with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Relations.
He is a licensed Nursing Home Administrator in the state
of Michigan.
Sharon Moon
Corporate Vice President - Operations
Ms. Moon has responsibility for directing health and wellness
services for Greystone-managed communities, including planning
and implementation. Ms. Moon provides consultation to Greystone
clients in nursing and assisted living services. Within
the Management Division, she facilitates the Risk Management
Task Force and the Lifestyle Task Force, and reviews the
designs of health and wellness areas in new projects. She
also directs the Greystone hospitality training program,
“Living in Style.” Prior to joining Greystone
Communities, Ms. Moon had regional responsibility for the
Quality Assurance program for skilled nursing and assisted
living communities in Texas. Ms. Moon is a Registered Nurse
and a Certified Gerontological Nurse. She received her nursing
degree from Midwestern State University.
Mark Lichtenwalner
Vice President - Management Services - Operations
Mr. Lichtenwalner is responsible for operations management
for new and existing communities. His responsibilities include
staff recruitment and retention, resident and employee satisfaction,
development of budgets and overall financial performance.
Mr. Lichtenwalner has extensive experience in the hospitality
and senior living industry. Prior to joining Greystone in
2004, he was a Vice President of Operations overseeing seven
senior living communities in Florida. Mr. Lichtenwalner
received a B.S. in Business from The University of New Hampshire.
Edward Thorne
Vice President - Management Services - Operations
Mr. Thorne joined Greystone in 1998. Mr. Thorne is responsible for
overseeing the onsite Executive Director’s as well as the development
of the management and hospitality culture as each community transitions
from development services to operations. Mr. Thorne has particular
expertise in the turnaround of troubled communities as well as
redevelopments. Mr. Thorne was the Executive Director for two
Greystone communities prior to joining the corporate staff in 2003.
Mr. Thorne has worked in the senior housing and health care field for over 25 years.
Mr. Thorne received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of South Carolina
with a concentration in Business and Government. He is a licensed Nursing
Home Administrator in the state of Virginia.
Harold Weyand
Vice President - Management Services - Operations
Mr. Weyand is responsible for pre-opening and ongoing operations
for new communities and corporate hospitality and service
excellence initiatives. Prior to joining Greystone, Mr.
Weyand was an Executive Director for a national development
and management company. He is a licensed nursing home and
assisted living administrator. He is a former President
of the Florida Retirement Housing Council and is approved
by the state of Florida as an Alzheimer’s trainer.
Mr. Weyand received his B.A. in History from Nyack College,
Nyack, New York and his M.A. in Gerontology from the University
of South Florida, Tampa, Florida.

- Financial
Jim Knox
First Vice President – Management Services - Financial
Mr. Knox is responsible for Greystone Management’s
Financial Support Services, including oversight of community
accounting functions, preparation of monthly financial and
operational reports and coordination of the annual budget
process. He is also responsible for analysis of operating
results, projection of future performance and compliance
with regulatory reporting requirements. Prior to his current
position, Mr. Knox was part of Greystone’s Planning
and Financial Services Department. Prior to joining the
company in 1994, Mr. Knox was a Senior Associate with Coopers
& Lybrand in Dallas, Texas, where he provided accounting
and financial services to clients in several industries.
Mr. Knox received a B.S. from Iowa State University and
a Masters of Professional Accounting from the University
of Texas at Austin. Mr. Knox is a Certified Public Accountant.
Heather Logan
Vice President - Management Services - Financial
Ms. Logan oversees financial accounting services provided
to Greystone-managed senior living communities including
monthly financial and operations reporting, annual budgeting,
coordination of year-end audits, financial analysis of operations,
performance analysis, and regulatory reporting. Prior to
joining the company in 1999, Ms. Logan was Senior Analyst
for Sky Chefs. In this position, she analyzed financial
information of various units, prepared management reports,
assisted with the audits, and maintained the general ledger.
Ms. Logan graduated from the University of North Texas with
a B.S. in Accounting Control Systems. Ms. Logan is a Certified
Public Accountant.

Marketing
Bruce Byers
First Vice President – Marketing Services
Mr. Byers joined Greystone in 2003 and is responsible for
the marketing of new developing projects through the start
of the operational process. He coordinates and assists marketing
efforts between regional sales team members and clients.
Mr. Byers has worked in the senior living industry for seventeen
years and has been involved with the marketing of over sixty
senior living communities from California to Maine. Mr.
Byers is a graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
Mary Beth Fritz
Vice President - Marketing Services
Ms. Fritz has the responsibility for marketing and sales
activities for new and existing senior living communities.
Her responsibilities include staff recruitment and training,
coordination of advertising, public relations, promotional
activities and on-going sales support. Prior to joining
Greystone in 2004, Ms. Fritz was a Vice President of Sales
and Marketing for two national developers of senior living
communities. Ms. Fritz received a B.A. in Social Welfare
from Pennsylvania State University.
Nancy Hillmer
Vice President - Marketing Services
Nancy Hillmer has regional responsibility for occupancy
development for Greystone clients. Her responsibilities
include staff recruitment and training, sales/marketing
team oversight, ongoing sales and marketing programs, creation/implementation
of marketing plans and budgets and coordination of advertising
and promotions. Prior to joining Greystone in 1995, Ms.
Hillmer spent over ten years in the travel industry as the
general manager and corporate marketing director for a national
destination and tour company serving primarily the senior
market. Ms. Hillmer attended the University of Texas at
San Antonio.
Stovall Kendrick
Corporate Vice President – Construction Marketing Services
Mr. Kendrick is responsible for occupancy development in
operational communities developed and managed by Greystone.
This includes staff recruitment and training, strategic
planning, sales and marketing execution, and budget development.
Prior to joining Greystone, Mr. Kendrick was an Area Director
with Marriott Senior Living Services where he was responsible
for a revenue stream of more than $70 million and nearly
2,000 units across four CCRCs and nine assisted living communities.
Mr. Kendrick holds a Master of Science degree with a concentration
in Administration and Planning from the University of Tennessee
and a Master of Business Administration from the Fogelman
School of Business and Economics at the University of Memphis.
Barbara Matamoros
Vice President - Marketing Services
Ms. Matamoros has responsibility for occupancy development
and sales activities for new and existing communities. Responsibilities
include staff recruitment and training, coordination of
advertising and promotional activities and ongoing sales
support. Prior to joining Greystone in 1998, Ms. Matamoros
worked for Cornerstone Health Management with responsibility
for marketing and operational support of hospital-based
geriatric specialty programs across the United States. With
an emphasis on Geriatric Psychiatric programs and Senior
Health centers, Ms. Matamoros has experience in the areas
of community and healthcare-based referral management, sales
and customer service training and regulatory compliance.
Ms. Matamoros received a B.B.A. in Marketing from Texas
Tech University.
Chuck Schwambach
Vice President - Marketing Services
Chuck has responsibility for supervising marketing efforts
for Greystone clients. His responsibilities include assuring
the marketing staff is hired and developed to achieve required
sales and timeline objectives and creating and maintaining
an open line of communication with our clients. He is also
responsible for managing the advertising process. Prior
to joining Greystone, Chuck was the Marketing Director for
a high profile life care community outside of Philadelphia.
Merna Smith
Corporate Vice President - Marketing Services
Ms. Smith joined Greystone in 2006 and is primarily responsible
for the occupancy development in operational communities
developed and managed by Greystone. This includes staff
recruitment and training, sales and marketing execution,
strategic planning and budget oversight. Prior to joining
Greystone, Ms. Smith was a Corporate Director of Marketing
and Operations responsible for marketing and sales oversight
for 26 senior living communities. She is a current member
of the AAHSA Marketing Steering Committee, and has earned
her RCFE Administrators License and California Real Estate
License. Ms. Smith attended the University of California
at Davis.

Brian Schiff
Sr. Vice President - Planning & Financial Services
Mr. Schiff is responsible for the planning and financing
of new project developments and acquisitions. He has responsibility
for Greystone’s consulting services including strategic
planning, financial advisory, mergers and acquisitions and
troubled-project advisory services. Prior to joining Greystone,
Mr. Schiff was the National Director of Health Care Consulting
for BDO Seidman, LLP. He has over 20 years of experience
in the health care industry. Mr. Schiff received a B.A.
from Colgate University and an M.B.A. from the University
of Virginia.
Stuart Jackson
Corporate Vice President
Mr. Jackson’s primary responsibilities include the
planning and financial structuring of senior living projects
and implementation of Greystone financing programs. He has
responsibility for coordinating Business Plan, Development
Plan and Strategic Plan preparation and works with project
finance teams in coordinating financing activities. Prior
to joining Greystone in 1999, Mr. Jackson was with Arthur
Andersen, LLP where he provided accounting and financial
advisory services to clients primarily in the real estate
industry. Mr. Jackson received his Bachelor of Business
Administration in Accounting from Texas A&M University.
He is a Certified Public Accountant.
Brad Straub
Vice President - Planning & Financial Services
Mr. Straub’s primary responsibilities include the
planning and financial structuring of senior living projects
and implementation of Greystone financing programs. He has
responsibility for coordinating Business Plan, Development
Plan and Strategic Plan preparation and works with project
finance teams in coordinating financing activities. Prior
to joining Greystone in 2003, Mr. Straub was an associate
consultant with Bain & Company where he provided strategy
consulting, financial consulting and business improvement
services to clients in a variety of industries. Mr. Straub
received his Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting
and Master of Science in Management Information Systems
from Texas A&M University.
Susan Peña
Vice President - Planning & Financial Services
Ms. Peña’s responsibilities include the planning
and financial structuring of senior living projects, operations
analysis, and strategic planning. She provides consulting
services in the design, selection and setup of financial
reporting systems; the development of budget models and
management reporting tools; the staffing and organization
of business offices; as well as the implementation of accounting
and regulatory reporting requirements. Prior to her current
position, Ms. Peña was part of Greystone’s Management
Services Department. Prior to joining Greystone, Ms. Peña
was Controller for a senior living community owner in Irving,
Texas. Before that, she was a tax consultant with Whitely
& Associates and Ernst & Whinney. Ms. Peña graduated
from the University of North Texas with a B.S. in Accounting
and a Master’s in Tax Accounting. She is a Certified
Public Accountant.

Cindy Smith
Vice President - Human Resources
Ms. Smith joined Greystone in 1988 and is responsible for
coordinating Human Resources support for Greystone’s
corporate and community-based employees. She coordinates
the recruitment process, manages ongoing personnel administration
and provides overall employee relations support. Ms. Smith
also manages the administrative functions of the corporate
office, and she coordinates special events. Ms. Smith received
a B.B.A. from Baylor University and she is certified as
a Professional in Human Resources.
Janelle Wood
First Vice President & CFO
Ms. Wood’s primary responsibilities include the financial
planning and management functions. She has responsibility
for all corporate finance and accounting activities, such
as customer billing, financial reporting, budgeting, and
cash management. Prior to joining the company in 2000, Ms.
Wood was the Controller for a company in Richardson, Texas,
and a consultant with Price Waterhouse where she provided
accounting and financial services to clients in several
industries. Ms. Wood received a B.B.A. from Baylor University.
Ms. Wood is a Certified Public Accountant.
Julie Holt
Vice President - Accounting
Ms. Holt’s primary responsibilities include preparation of
financial statements and various reports to management,
budget preparation, maintenance of the general ledger, and supervision
of the accounting support functions.Prior to joining Greystone in
2001, Ms. Holt provided accounting and financial advisory services
to clients in various industries at Deloitte & Touche, LLP and
PricewaterhouseCoopers. Before that, she was Manager of Financial
Reporting for a public company in Irving, Texas and Senior Financial
Analyst for a regional law firm in Dallas, Texas.Ms. Holt received
her Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Texas A&M
University. She is a Certified Public Accountant.
